Tales have a function of entertainment and relaxation, but they also have a function of teaching and initiation into how to live well in society. Most often the tales speak of values, in two words “African wisdom”. Thus, dishonesty, jealousy, disrespect, indiscretion, lies and selfishness are castigated. In short, we find there the true authority to the wisdom and experience of the age.
